Fast rising PR Agency, Peekaboo Global Consulting Limited has won the media account for the maiden edition of the IbomFest Heritage Festival which is billed to take place from December 15 to 17, 2016 in Akwa Ibom State.
The festival is geared at diverting investment and tourism traffic to Akwa Ibom State through the provision of artistic, cultural and tourism platforms to add value to the state’s economy.
Speaking at the formal signing of the Service Level Agreement which had Mr. Darlington Abuda, the lead consultant of PGC, and Mr. Apeh Harrison Iwodi, the IbomFest Project Consultant in attendance, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism, Ms Ini Edo, stated that the IbomFest Heritage festival which has as its theme “Our Culture Beyond Borders” would simultaneously showcase the tourism potentials of the state to visitors while giving residents of the state a renewed appreciation of their state.
Ms Ini Edo, who is the Project Manager for the Festival, explained that IbomFest would also showcase the wealth of the state in terms of historic sites, sculptural landscapes, topography, cuisines, to arts and crafts that abound in the state. This showcase she further explained would attract foreign direct investment to the state as well as create opportunity for stakeholders in the tourism industry to showcase their potentials.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Abuda confirmed the story when he said
“yes, we won the IBOMFEST HERITAGE FESTIVAL 2016 media account and we thank God and the client for believing in us”. He however declined from describing the agency’s media strategy in moving the IbomFest brand forward on the media front but responded by saying “we are keeping our game plans close to our chest but they are bold and geared towards making IbomFest a byword in the shortest time”.
He went on to express his agency’s determination to support the Udom Emmanuel led administration strategy to provide a robust programme that would fast track the development of the tourism industry in the state for wealth creation, employment generation, self actualization and sustainability.
Mr. Apeh Harrison Iwodi, the Project Consultant, expressed his optimism that the ingenuity embedded in the concept of the festival would serve as a beacon to other states in their desire to diversify the sources of internal generated revenue. He enjoined corporate bodies to sign up as veritable partners of Akwa Ibom State by supporting the execution of the festival.
