Two protesting pensioners in Benue reportedly slumped
As the protesters took the streets of Makurdi carrying placards with various inscriptions, two of the pensioners allegedly slumped and became unconscious instantly. All efforts to revive them proved unsuccessful. They were taken to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention immediately.
These protesters are Demanding for the immediate payment of their pension arrears, the retirees caused heavy gridlock lasting for several hours as they barricaded the popular CBN- Government House Roundabout. Efforts by security operatives to calm the protesters down proved abortive.
